Redmi is working on the Redmi K50 series of smartphones. Ahead of the launch, some of the key features of the handsets in the series have leaked online.
The series will succeed the Redmi K30 and Redmi K40 series smartphones. The K40 lineup was unveiled in the first quarter of this year.
Hence, the series is expected to comprise the vanilla Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and the top-end Redmi K50 Pro+.
According to Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo one of the more handsets in the series will have a high-quality screen and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series flagship chipset. The purported smartphone is said to feature 108-megapixel main sensor and a large-sized battery with support for 67W fast charging.
Moreover, the upcoming models are also expected to be equipped with JBL powered stereo speakers and an X-axis motor. These specifications are likely to be seen in the Redmi K50 Pro and Pro+ smartphones.
Leaks have also suggested the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor in the series. Redmi K50 is said to feature a 48-megapixel rear primary sensor, while the Pro model is said to offer a 50-megapixel main sensor.
The leaks also suggested the presence of a 108-megapixel primary rear sensor on the Pro+ model. Along with, 120W fast charging support. However, other models are said to offer a maximum of 100W fast charging support.
The leak also suggested that the K005 models will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. however, this indicates that the K50 phones will be arriving with an AMOLED panel. The K50 may feature the Snapdragon 888 or 870 chip, whereas the K50 Pro/Pro+ is expected to arrive with the forthcoming Snapdragon 898 chip.
Hence, the upcoming series is said to hit the market in early 2022.
