Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar grants his good wishes to Suryakumar Yadav for the T20 World Cup. Mumbai Indians faced the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their final match of the season. Suryakumar Yadav smacked 82 runs in 40 balls. Furthermore, he reached his half-century in just 24 balls.
Mumbai Indians posted a video on Twitter that showed the Mumbai Indians’ mentor Sachin Tendulkar greeting Suryakumar Yadav after his brilliant knock. In the dressing room, Suryakumar Yadav received the “Dressing room man of the match.” Sachin Tendulkar did the honors of handing over the award. During the process, Sachin Tendulkar said, “All the best for the T20 World Cup, now you have a bigger role.”
However, after a disappointing exit to the 2021 IPL campaign, Suryakumar Yadav shifts his focus to the upcoming T20 World Cup. He said, “The World Cup is a big tournament. We don’t change anything. The process and routine all remain the same. So I’m really looking forward to it.”
The Mumbai Indians needed to restrict the Sunrisers Hyderabad to 65 runs to qualify for the playoffs. After scoring 235/9 in 20 overs, the Sunrisers Hyderabad dashed away their hopes and scored 193/8 in 20 overs. On the bright side, Mumbai Indians won the match by 42 runs. However, they fell short and didn’t make the playoffs.
Furthermore, Suryakumar Yadav spoke after the match in an interview. He said, “I am good, as it should be. At the end of the day, the show must go on and you’ve got to keep smiling whatever happens. We had nothing to lose.”
Moreover, he also added saying, “We had a target and we just kept running behind it. The pitch was good. Happy to be on the winning side.”
The T20 World Cup campaign for India begins on 17th October. India goes head to head against rivals Pakistan. However, India hopes Suryakumar Yadav continues his fine form in the World Cup.
