In the first match of Super Sunday, Kolkata knight Riders won the toss and chose to bat first against the Chennai Super Kings. It seemed like this decision was going in KKR’s favor as they lost 2 early wickets. Shubman Gill and Venaktesh Iyer fell in the Powe Play.
Although, from there on KKR batters were able to issue some kind of a fightback. Rahul Tripathi stepped up and made a crucial 45 before being bowled out by Jadeja. Captain Eoin Morgan unable to make a huge contribution, left the field making only 8 runs.

Sam Curran was the most expensive bowler for CSK giving away 56 runs in his 4 overs. While KKR’s Nitish Rana remained not out making a 37 run contribution.
The big West Indian Andre Russell looked like he possessed a threat to the King before Lord Sharul Thakur bowled him out.
Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik came out firing boundaries for his side. Dinesh made a quickfire 26 of just 11 balls. It looked like every ball Dinesh touched turned into a six or a four. Dinesh Karthik’s flashy innings came to an end in the last lower when he nicked one into MS Dhoni’s hands.
Although, Dinesh’s efforts mean that KKR has now a respectable score of 171/6 to defend in their 20 overs. With the game nicely poised to be a Sunday thriller.
