Anrich Nortje can bowl fast, it’s not an unknown fact. But how long it takes the South African bowler to reach the late 140s was revealed when Delhi Capitals began bowling to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He hardly had time to warm up. The DC pacer produced considerable speed in the first over of the inning.
An excellent start for the Delhi Capitals as Nortje dismisses David Warner in the third ball. A pacy short ball to Warner that is caught by Axar Patel. Warner walks off for a duck in the first over. Skipper Kane Williamson walks in next and takes a quick two. However, a poor delivery by Nortje sees the ball runoff for a four. Six runs off the first over along with a wicket.
In the first over, Nortje’s speeds were 148.2 kmph, 145 kmph, 147.5 kmph, 150.8 kmph, 151.2 kmph, and 147.1 kmph. He was instantly rewarded for bending his back and delivering at such high speeds. He removed SRH batsman David Warner for a duck in the first over. Clearly, Twitter users were blown away by what they said and were in awe of pacer Nortje. Here are a few examples of tweets.
