CSK were second in the IPL points standings with 10 points from seven games before the season was stopped in May. The championship holders are a couple of points shy of CSK. They currently sit in the fourth position.
MI have won four of their seven games, will aim to boost their playoff chances with a win on Sunday. The win against CSK would tie them on points with Dhoni’s team. Likewise, CSK would like to go to the top of the table with a win against MI.
Mumbai side has got a timely boost ahead of the UAE leg opener. Skipper Rohit resumed his training after completing a necessary six-day quarantine. He is coming from England after the postponement of the Manchester Test.
The Pandya twins, might be crucial to MI’s prospects for the rest of the season. They will be hoping to get back to their best against CSK. Mumbai Indians will be banking on Jasprith Bumrah and Trent Boult in the bowling unit.
