Bumrah after picking up total 9 wickets in the test match against England in Nottingham today, he shared a tweet saying, “Still don’t need you.”
During the first innings, Jasprit started the Test with a wicket in the first over itself bowling out Rory Burns in front of the stumps and by the end of the innings he picked other three wickets.
This also earned him another mention on the Trent Bridge honours board.
Continuing in the second innings, Bumrah bagged a five wicket haul sending back Zak Crawley in the starting first hour and also the centurion Joe Root.
India needed just 157 runs to win on day five match but the match ended in a draw due to rain. Not a single ball was bowled on the final day and India finished 52 for 1 in their second innings.
Moreover this is Bumrah’s first five wicket haul in nearly two years in Test format.
Why do you think his caption was ‘still don’t need you’? The caption might possibly be pointing to those critics who posted hatred comments when he went wicketless in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against New Zealand in June and this match was a reply to them that he doesn’t need them in his good times too.
The next match is in Lord’s, scheduled on Thursday.
