On Wednesday Bangladesh played second T20I of the Five match series against Australia. Bangladesh beat the visitors by 5 wickets in the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. The Bangladeshi bowlers managed to keep the target set to a minimum which was crucial in sealing the team’s victory.
In the first innings Australian openers Josh Philippe and Alex Carey were unable to pick the pace. Middle order batsmen Moises Henriques, 30 in 25 balls and Mitchell Marsh, 45 in 42 balls helped the team to display the team’s century in the scoreboard. The visiting batsmen failed to maintain the run rate and could only manage to score 121 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Bangladeshi Pacer Mustafizur Rahman dismissed three important wickets and gave only 23 runs in his 4-over spell. His economy was maintained at 5.75 runs per over.

The Australian side in the second innings had a difficult task of defending the low target of 122. The Bowling side successfully managed to take 2 wickets for 21 runs in 3 overs. Bangladeshi batsmen looked pressurized in the situation of early wickets but Shakib Al-Hasan and Mahedi Hasan managed to pick the run chase till the 60s.
The outstanding 6th wicket partnership of 56-runs by the middle order batsmen, Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan. Both the batsmen hit a total of 9 boundaries and succeeded in completing the run chase.
Australian Skipper Matthew Wade commented on the post match interview:
“We were in a good position today (with the ball), but unfortunately we struggled with the bat in the last four overs,”
