Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar won gold in 50m Rifle three positions men’s event with a new junior world record at the ISSF Junior World Championships in Lima on Monday.
Aishwary finished with a record score of 463.4 which was 6.9 more than the score of silver medalist Lucas Bernard Denis Kryzs of France.
This is the country’s eighth gold medal at this year’s competition.

Twenty-year-old Aishwary, also equaled the junior world record of 1185 during the qualification stage. Then, he went a step ahead during the final. He finished with a record score of 463.4 he also sets a new Junior world record while doing so.
While India’s promising shooters continue to shine in the ongoing Junior World Championships. India has so far won 8 gold in this championship.
Earlier in the day, 14-year-old Naamya Kapoor clinched gold in the women’s 25m pistol event while her compatriot Manu Bhaker won bronze.
Naamya Kapoor secured 36 points in the final match. While Camille of France finished second with 33 points. while Manu Bhaker secured 31 points securing the bronze position for India.
However, India did not fare well in the mixed skeet team event. In this, the pair of India’s Raiza Dhillon and Ayush Rudraraju finished at number 7 with 130 points.
In the qualification of this event, only the teams in the top four get entry to the final.
