RPN Singh Joins BJP: Amid desertions and a slew of dramatic political developments in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in the day congress leader and former Union Minister RPN Singh joined the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP). Supporting his decision he stated that it’s “better late than never”
RPN Singh, who was assigned the Congress party in charge in Jharkhand and named as a star campaigner by the Congress party for the upcoming polls. He joins several other congress Ministers and MLA’s who shifted over to the BJP in recent months. He was among the other rebel MLA’s Singh, Shashi Walia, and Rajendra Awana who also quit the Congress.
RPN was associated with the Indian national congress for around 32 years and was a prominent figure in the party.

Addressing the media, He broke out the Congress saying. “it is not the same party where I began and it is not the same ideology, I am ready to work with the BJP as an ordinary party worker alongside PM Narendra Modi.”
Furthermore Commending PM Modi’s works he added. “The whole country appreciates the work done by our PM, bringing the old civilization together with the 21st century”
Singh who hails from Uttar Pradesh further appreciated Yogi Adityanath’s government for bringing a massive upgrade in the state’s law and order situation.

“Since 2004, I was approaching Scindia and told him that he’s the right person in the wrong place. When I met Singh, who was then a Union minister…I told him that he should be with Narendra Modi and take the country forward. I thank both of them for joining BJP ” Pradhan added.

Besides RPN Singh, other rebel Congressmen who joined the party including Scindia, now a minister in the union council, and Jitin Prasad are at greater positions in the union cabinet.
Moments after Singh joined the BJP, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate deprecated him, calling him a “coward” for joining the BJP, and said that “you have to be brave”.
“This battle can be only fought with courage and bravery,”.“Only a coward can jump to a party with completely opposite ideology”.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at Singh Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra taking to Twitter said. “Heavyweight or deadweight? Those who have not won a seat in over a decade moving to BJP on election eve.” while The TMC MP did not describe him, in the tweet.
