As elections in the state near, CM Channi Poses new challenge amidst attacks from Opposition Parties
Earlier today, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal concerning the episode said. “It’s very sad to know that raid is being in process on the residence of Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s relative in connection with a case of illegal sand mining. Punjab CM & his relatives are involved in illegal sand mining”
Moreover, he added that ” In the past, AAP leader Raghav Chadha had even shown how illegal sand mining was taking place in Channi’s own assembly constituency”
“Besides uncovering the truth, the chief minister did not take any action and even tried to justify it. It is clear that CM and his family are into illegal sand mining. What can citizens expect for Punjab’s future from a person whose family is into illegal mining” he said while talking to reporters at Mohali.
Further alleging CM Channi over this episode said. “We have been repeatedly saying that in Channi’s cabinet, there are people who are into the illegal sand mining business. And Channi Sahab himself is giving patronage to them, Why Channi Sahab did not sack them out from the cabinet? Why he kept them in the cabinet”
Countering his statement Punjab CM Charanjit S Channi said. That ” the opposition is trying to target him in view of upcoming Punjab polls. Raid is in the process (on the premises of his relative). “They’re targetting me & trying to put pressure on me in view of upcoming Assembly polls. This is not good for democracy. We’re ready to fight this. The same thing happened during WB elections“, he said.
