Delhi Chief Minister and AAP’s national chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said. His party’s chief ministerial candidate for the Poll-Bound Punjab Assembly will be announced on Tuesday.
Earlier, this month The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had sought the public’s opinion to select the chief ministerial candidate for the Punjab Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Under the campaign, The Aam Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has received around 22 lakh responses to elect AAP’s Punjab CM face for the Assembly Polls, a party leader said
Arvind Kejriwal had asked the people of Punjab to suggest names of their preferred candidate for the position of CM candidates and launched a mobile number for the purpose, Earlier on January 13.
Further, Kejriwal said. “Even though we wanted the party’s state unit chief Bhagwant Mann’s( MP from Sangrur) name to be the Chief ministerial candidate, however, He insisted that people should make the decision”. For which Kejriwal handed support towards the Sangrur MP.

“The name of the AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for Punjab Assembly elections 2022. Will be announced tomorrow at 12 noon,” Kejriwal told reporters alongside an event in Delhi.
Following the AAP chief’s announcement later in the day. AAP leader and leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema states. “On January 17 till 5 PM. Nearly around 22 Lakh people expressed their opinion. and selected names of their favorite candidate whom they want to see as their CM. On the official Mobile number released by the party for this purpose”
In the meantime, ” AAP leader Raghav Chadha in Chandigarh in a press briefing said. That the party received responses through SMS, Voice calls, WhatsApp messages, etc. AAP’s IT team is scrutinizing each and every message and Kejriwal will disclose the result On Jan 18” he said.
Raghav Chadda further added “ It is only AAP which will announce their chief ministerial face ahead of Punjab assembly polls”

He said none of the other political parties, including the ruling Congress, announced the name of their chief ministerial candidate.
So far, the party has announced 112 candidates.
