IAS officer, Chandni Chandran, was one of the thousands of applicants who had attempted the Civil Service Exam 2015 and were waiting for their results at the time. The rest of the story is amusing and applicable to anyone who has ever slipped out with a boyfriend.
Ms. Chandran decided to go for a stroll with her then-boyfriend, now-husband Arun Sudarsan, to help relax around the time the results were expected. “10 May 2016.” “I was roaming with @mrarunsudarsan to not stress over the results of Civil Service Exam 2015,” she tweeted on the microblogging network, tagging her husband. She went on to say, “I didn’t make it.”. Ms. Chandran ultimately passed the UPSC exams the following year and is a member of the 2017 IAS batch.
She is currently assigned to Kanchanpur, North Tripura, as a sub-divisional Justice of the Peace.
While she did not pass the highly tough exam that year, her photo did appear in a newspaper with images of UPSC toppers, according to her Twitter thread. “The next day newspapers were flooded with photos of toppers, and @timesofindia published this photo of us!” she commented, sharing a photo of herself and Mr. Sudarsan walking in the rain.

She clarified in another tweet that it was not unlawful. Just the fact that such images cause awkward conversations at home. The photograph, which features the two of them sharing an umbrella, was published in a little section about rain in the city.
“Arun called ToI and complained as we weren’t married then,” the IAS officer wrote. Ms. Chandran, for one, viewed it as a sign that her portrait would be published in a publication full of UPSC toppers. She remarked, “I can happily walk towards any destination with someone holding an umbrella and looking out for me with love unbound when I take each step.”The reason the picture came to light after five years is that the couple is now happily married, and is showered with blessings on the net.
