On Friday, Mr. Manish Sisodia has accused the Central government of hiding the death toll during the second wave of Covid-19 due to oxygen. He expressed that it was the center’s mistake that led to oxygen mismanagement during April and May.
He said, “We can’t deny that people died due to lack of oxygen in Delhi. But the Centre wants to hide this. LG had again rejected the proposal to form a committee to investigate the deaths due to lack of oxygen.”

He further went on accusing the LG of not letting the Delhi government investigate the deaths due to the same.
“We have resubmitted a file on the composition of the committee to investigate deaths from lack of oxygen. LG says it is not necessary,” he said.
“That is, the center wants you to tell us in writing that there were no deaths due to lack of oxygen. That would be a big lie,” Sisodia added.
Mr. Sisodia said if the center is asking for the number of deaths, it should also let them investigate the same. It is impossible to tell the exact number and cause without investigation.
The NCT of Delhi faced a huge number of deaths during the second wave of Covid-19. The wave struck in April and May 2021.
During the second wave, the NCT was in chaos due to the lack of medical supplies, beds, and oxygen. As the medical infrastructure collapsed in the capital, common people came to the rescue. People worked in help groups to find leads and convey them to the one who requires them.
Due to lack of the above-mentioned things, people also became a victim of fake medicines and black marketing.
