Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the 57th raising day of Border Security Force(BSF) at Jaisalmer Rajasthan, said that the Center is committed in providing world class technologies to the BSF for border security. , The minister said that ”Border Security Force is the first line of defense. For our government border security means national security. We are committed to provide world class technologies to BSF for border security.” This is the first time that the celebrations of the raising day of Border Security Force are taking place in Jaisalmer.
Further at the event Mr. Shah said since 2014, the Central government laid special emphasis to border security. “The security of the country’s borders has been taken seriously by the Central government since 2014. Wherever there is an attempt of encroachment at the border, we have retaliated immediately.”
He also paid tribute to the jawans of Central Armed Police Forces(CAPF) and BSF who lost their lives and also presented medals to the Border Security Force personnel.
Taking into consideration the the reports of central security agencies which confirm the presence of drones and unidentified flying objects along India’s border with Pakistan, the minister emphasized the importance of these technologies. He pointed out that India is developing indigenous anti-drone technology. This will help to thwart the growing threat from these devices on the country’s borders. He assured that the government will soon make these technologies available to the security forces.

Apart from addressing the BSF raising day, the engagements of Mr. Shah include
- Addressing the public representatives conference, which involves Panchayat Samiti members, Zila Parishad members, district heads, deputy chiefs, MPs and MLAs.
- Further, he shall also address the two day BJP working committee meeting of the state unit. This shall take place in JECC auditorium, Jaipur.
During the meeting today the party shall discuss its organizational review. Further, they shall also ponder over upcoming action plan, education, electricity, health, unemployment among other things.
