China has already started to urgently promote its Corona Virus vaccination campaign among minors as the authorities are trying to control a surge in cases that are driven by the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (Covid 19). Records of more than 450 people have been found to be infected in two weeks. It’s the latest outbreak that is spreading to at least 18 provinces and sending millions into a lockdown.

China is trying its best to contain the new outbreak, which has started in the eastern city of Nanjing in the third week of July. It has since then triggered pockets of a resurgence in the cities such as Wuhan and Beijing where the coronavirus had first emerged.
Cities such as Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Nanjing have already ordered mass testing of all its residents. In Nanjing’s case, the fourth round of testing is currently going on.
Authorities are thinking that getting the minors vaccinated might help them in containing the outbreak of the deadly disease!
Vaccination campaigns for minors, aged 12-17, would be expanded across the country. It as per the notice issued by the Education Ministry of China on Tuesday.

The Shanghai-based vaccine expert, Tao Lina, told the state-run tabloid named Global Times that teenagers and Children are key groups. China to achieve herd immunity, and most of the teens do not have that immunity to fight against coronavirus (Covid-19). Vaccination could eventually protect them against any severe symptoms and death.
Meanwhile, China has already imposed massive restrictions on travel. Including temporary closure of the airports and travel alerts for the citizens to other places across the country. To somewhat contain the outbreak that’s ongoing, as per reports by news agency Xinhua reported on Wednesday.
