Did the Hindutva mob beat a Christian priest inside Raipur’s police station?
In Raipur’s Bhatagaon area, the local police received reports of a Christian priest allegedly forcefully converting.

After analysing the video, the Hindutva mob indeed beat a Pastor. Additionally, the mob stormed into the police station. However, the policemen tried to control the mob and force them outside.
Per NDTV’s report and a local journalist’s video of the incident proves the above-made claims. Additionally, a local official told India TV that the mob manhandled Pastor as well as Ankush Bariyekar, general secretary of Chhattisgarh Christian Forum, and one Prakash Masih, inside Purani Basti police station.
In the video, the Hindutva mob is clearly storming into the police station and chanting a religious slogan turned war cry – “Jai Shree Ram.” However, the visible policemen in the video are trying to control the mob and forcing them out of the station. The man recording the video says that you can see a Pastor beaten by forcefully entering the police station.
Furthermore, Additional Superintendent of Police – Tarakeswar Patel has said, “We hadn’t received any complaints earlier. There was no damage done to the police station during the quarrel between the two groups. We are now looking into the complaint (of conversions). Based on what we find, we will take action.”
Additionally, the police have filed a case against seven persons in this matter.
