Taylor Swift has released a new music video for ‘I Bet You Think About Me,’ her Chris Stapleton collaboration from Red (Taylor’s Version). Directed by Blake Lively, the video stars Miles Teller and Aaron Dessner.
The 6 minute long video, shows Taylor attending an ex’s wedding. She sings about what they were and what he meant to her. As the song proceeds, Taylor turns everything red.
Over the weekend, Swift performed her new, 10-minute edition of “All Too Well” on Saturday Night Live and sang in a musical parody sketch by comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. Last week, she dropped an “All Too Well” short film starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien.
The song is believed to be a dig at her long time ex, Jake Gyllenhaal. Swift dated him in 2010 for three months.
In the song itself, Gyllenhaal gets some pretty overt lyrical shoutouts. Lines like “You grew up in a silver-spoon gated community / Glamorous, shiny, bright Beverly Hills”. (Gyllenhaal was born into an industry family; his father is director Stephen Gyllenhaal). “I bet you think about me when you’re out” which aims at Gyllenhaal’s lifestyle.
Swift spoke in 2011 about the track’s meaning. Radio station Country 102.5 shared an audio clip of Swift talking about creating ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ to celebrate Red‘s re-release.
