Consistently raises awareness about mental health
Deepika Padukone is one of the few actors who consistently raises awareness about mental health and despair. The actor, who is now awaiting the release of her upcoming film Gehraiyaan, has also played a character who is based on her own life and experiences. In a recent interview, the Piku actress spoke up about how she prepares for her roles by delving deep into her inner self.
She avoided referring to her character Alisha as bold, instead emphasising that her performance was honest. “I want to say bold, but I don’t want to say bold because of how we understand bold in our films and in the characters we’ve seen,” she explained. I’d go with raw.
How challenging it was for Deepika to depict the character
She also mentioned how challenging it was for her to depict the character on screen during the same interview. “It had to come from a very deep place to be able to execute it onscreen.” That isn’t to say I haven’t had similar experiences. I believe it came to this point because I had to dive deep and visit places that were not particularly pleasant in my own life, as well as cope with mental health difficulties. So, I think it all came from a very, very deep place,” she added.
Plot of the film is unknown
Apart from Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday also play important roles in the film. The plot of the film is unknown at this time, but based on the teaser, it looks to revolve around four intricate love tales. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022.
