Released in 2015, Kabir Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was recently completed six years. To date, it is one of the highest-earning films in Bollywood. Since then, fans have been wondering if there would be a second installment to the film.
Recently, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad dropped hints on working on a sequel. Talking to Pinkvilla, he said he was trying to crack the sequel and had spoken to actor Salman Khan about the same.
“I am trying to crack Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. Sometime back, I told Salman the idea and he is also excited. But I am looking for a proper vehicle to carry it forward. I hope it materializes,” he said. He added, “When I met him casually, I told him about Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel. He is excited with the thought and said it’s a good idea.”
KV Vijayendra Prasad won a Filmfare Award for Best Story in 2016 for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He is also known for writing the screenplay for movies like Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. He is also the father of popular filmmaker, SS Rajamouli.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the finest Hindi films made and also, one of the best films in Salman Khan’s career. To date, it is one of the Top 5 grossers of Bollywood and was the second Hindi film after Aamir Khan-starrer PK to earn over Rs 300cr at the box office in India.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan revolves around Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi who is an ardent devotee of the monkey-God Hanumaan. He embarks on a journey to Pakistan from India to return a mute six-year-old girl Pakistani girl named Shahida to her home. The movie talks about all the perils and joys he faces during this journey.
